At Healing Hands Physical Therapy we aim to provide you with a positive overall experience in addition to the best therapy. Our office staff are available to help you with scheduling your appointments and answering any questions you have.
As a patient at Healing Hands Physical Therapy, your participation in treatment includes being informed about your insurance coverage, keeping your appointments, and following your physical therapist’s plan of care. We respect your time; please respect ours by arriving on time and avoiding unnecessary cancellations. We have a 24-hour cancellation policy. If you cancel an appointment without 24 hours notice, you may be charged $75.00.
The clinic staff will prepare a treatment program and schedule for care that needs to be followed in order to achieve the outlined goals. Patients will receive the most benefit by adhering to the plan created for them. If a patient cancels often or frequently reschedules appointments, regardless of the 24 hour cancellation policy, we reserve the right to discharge them for failure to follow the plan of care.
As of January 1st, 2015 patients have Direct Access to Physical Therapy Treatments in Michigan. The new law allows patients to see a PT without a referral or prescription from a physician for up to 21 days or 10 visits, and will also allow patients to see a PT directly for injury prevention and fitness promotion, with no time or visit limit. However, we will communicate with your primary care physician about your treatment and progress as needed.
Our goal is to keep our fees reasonable and in line with comparable providers in the area. We accept a variety of insurances, including Blue Cross Blue Shield, Medicare, most PPO plans, and Auto and Workman’s Compensation. At this time we are unable to accept HMOs. We will verify your coverage with your insurance provider and inform you of your financial responsibility prior to your first appointment. This verification is performed as a courtesy and is not a guarantee of coverage.
Deductibles, co-pays and co-insurances are due at the time services are rendered and may be paid by cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express.
Since every insurance policy is different, we highly recommend that you contact your insurance carrier to confirm physical therapy coverage and possible massage benefits. You are also responsible for knowing about your co-pay, co-insurance and/or deductible. We do not guarantee that insurance will cover our services.
If we are considered by your insurance company to be “out-of-network,” we can still bill your insurance for our services. You need to check with your insurance about out-of-network benefits to see if you are covered and you have a deductible. If you do not see your insurance listed, please call us so we can work something out.
Billing and insurance related issues are handled quickly and efficiently. We take care of the paperwork, so you don’t have to.
Listed below is information about some of the common insurances that we accept.
We are an approved provider for Blue Cross/Blue Shield. We realize that BC/BS policies vary widely among different patients and we do our best to inform you of your coverage, deductible and copay before you begin physical therapy with us. We bill all of our BC/BS electronically so we know the status of every claim as soon as possible.
We bill Medicare electronically so we obtain claim information as soon as possible. We are very aware of, and compliant with, Medicare guidelines, and our efficient billing allows us to act quickly if there are any issues with your claims. We are also aware of the Medicare cap for physical therapy. In response to the cap, we monitor your benefits and let you know when you are approaching the allowed amount. Our effective manual therapy is the best way to work with the Medicare cap; we get you better with fewer visits.
We accept all auto insurance. Before you begin physical therapy we will obtain all of the necessary information to bill your auto insurance accurately. We will also keep your claims representative informed of your progress and follow all required protocols.
We accept Worker’s Compensation patients and work closely with your claims adjuster. We follow all required protocols and bill your Work Comp provider accurately, with all of the required documentation. If you are not part of an HMO and do not see your insurance listed, please call us so we can work something out.
