Carol Wilson

Carol Wilson, PT, DPT

Carol joined the team at Healing Hands after 18 years as physical therapist working at St Joseph Mercy – Chelsea Hospital (previously Chelsea Community Hospital) outpatient orthopedic physical therapy clinic. Carol values being part of a team that is focused on providing quality care by always striving to meet the specific needs of each patient.

Carol’s treatment approach includes manual therapy, patient education and therapeutic exercise. She places an emphasis on movement analysis concentrating on identifying and correcting dysfunctional movement patterns. Her goal is to empower patients to take a principal role in improving their health and wellness. She works to achieve this by improving each patient’s awareness of their limitations and deficits while teaching how to correct them.

Carol’s interest in physical movement began during her first job as a skating instructor for the City of Ann Arbor Parks and Recreation. This experience provided the motivation to study motor learning and motor control, and eventually physical therapy. Other current interests include providing consultation for innovative exercise equipment design.
