Melissa Hartenstein, PT, MPT

Melissa joined the Healing Hands team with over 15 years of outpatient orthopedic experience, 14 of those at St Joseph Mercy Chelsea.  She graduated from Andrews University in Dayton, Ohio with her Master of Physical Therapy degree in 2003.  Melissa places great value in working with a strong team which allows for collaboration with colleagues to find the best treatment techniques to assist patients in becoming the best version of themselves.  Melissa has taken courses in Muscle Energy Technique, Strain Counter Strain, Myofascial Release and Kinesio-taping techniques which shape her treatment plans.  She feels patient treatment is successful with a mixture of manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, and education to enable patients to assist themselves long after their time at PT is complete. She has trained student physical therapists in the past and is a Credentialed Clinical Instructor with the American Physical Therapy Association.

Melissa enjoys spending time with her family and taking walks with her husband and son.  She values the time she is able to spend with her family and friends, enjoying nature in the Ann Arbor Area, and camping with extended family each summer.
